15 November 2016 - Britaniacrest Planning Proposal for an Incineration Unit

We have received information about a Planning Application that is being put together for submission to WSCC Planning Committee very shortly.

Further information can be found on their website or telephone 01293 820021.

It is a proposal to take commercial and industrial waste and to burn the residual material to produce electricity after sorting out items of value. It is not connected to WSCC waste contract.

There was an exhibition of these proposals available at Roffey Millennium Hall on Fri. 7th Oct. 5 pm 7 pm and Sat. 8th Oct. 10 am 1 pm which happened at very short notice.

This is a very restricted opportunity for the public to engage and ask questions for such a controversial project.

As local residents who will be consulted on this application, it is important to publicise these plans. Any mention of incineration being carried out in our area will not be welcomed. We have had a number of previous applications of this type that eventually did not proceed because of public concerns.

It would be valuable to know how local residents respond to this plan and how we might be able to work together. Please keep up to date on these plans and contact your local County District and Parish Councillors appropriately.
