July – Works have started on site to firstly remove the old equipment and the new equipment should start going up in the next week!  If all runs smoothly, Eibe are aiming to be finished in 3 weeks.  The Government has advised parish councils that playgrounds can now re-open. The Parish Council are currently working on how we can re-open the playground safely and we will keep you posted.

May 2020 – The Parish Council has placed the order for the new playground equipment with Eibe and works are expected to start on site at the end of June!  A big thank you goes out to all those who have donated towards this project.  We still need to raise a final £3000 and the Playground Working Group will be holding some more fundraising events once the lockdown is over.   You can still make a donation directly to the project using the bank details below or by sending a cheque to our Clerk.

January 2020 – We are very pleased to announce that the Hollands Way Playground Project has been awarded £9972 of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund!  A big thank you to the players of the National Lottery and to those who have donated so far.

Hollands Way Playground Revamp

The Parish Council are hoping to revamp the Hollands Way Playground next to the Village Hall with a working group of parents, residents and parish councillors.

This is such an important space for children to play and socialise and the working group wants to be sure that what is provided, is exactly what the village needs and wants.

What is proposed?

The proposed design includes a bespoke multiplay unit with multiple climbing apparatus and unique broad slide, a new toddler play unit with steps, slide and lookout platforms, bouncy lily pads, stand-up see-saw, trim trail, pick-up-sticks climbing frame and several other items. The toddler swings will be refurbished with the cableway, aerial rotating swing and the swings remaining as they are and but the fence between the two areas will be removed to provide a more inclusive playspace for the range of ages.

How will it be funded?

The Parish Council are planning for the project to be funded through various sources including Section 106 money from housing developments around the parish, Parish Council reserves and through fundraising.

The design

Eibe have produced this fantastic design that is based around Warnham’s historical deer park and has a rustic and rural theme.

Thank you for all your comments and thoughts on the playground design.  Any suggestions for additional items of play equipment or picnic benches, or other seating are still welcome.

Have your say!
